The port of Puerto Portals is a marina in the Portals Nous district in the municipality of Calvia on the Balearic island of Mallorca .

The marina is located around 15 kilometers from Palma de Mallorca Airport. Puerto Portals is known as a meeting place for business people, celebrities and members of the Spanish royal family during their summer stays at the Palacio de Marivent .

history

The original port facility dates from 1932. In 1981, the concession as the Puerto Portals yacht harbor was awarded to the German Graf family, owners of well-known electrical brands. The founded company Puerto Punta Portals SA as the operator expanded the port and officially opened the marina in 1986. The concession was granted by the Baleraen Council of Ministers for a period of 50 years.

Port facility

The inner harbor of Puerto Portals is protected from the sea by two breakwaters. The port has a total of 670 berths for ships with a length of 8 to 80 m. Technical service companies for boats, several restaurants, boutiques and a hotel are located on the adjacent property of 8.5 hectares. Some of the restaurants, especially Flanigans , Tristan and Tahini, are among the most exclusive on the island.

Transport links

The MA-1 motorway from Andratx to Palma was completed in March 2007 . This leads past the port so that there is a fast connection to the island's capital and the airport. The center of Palma is around 12 kilometers and the center of Andratx around 20 kilometers away.
