Pulivendula is a city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh .

The city is part of the YSR district . Pulivendula has the status of a Municipality . The city is divided into 5 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census, it had a total of 65,706 inhabitants, of whom 32,758 were men and 32,948 women. With a share of approx. 82%, Hindus form the largest group of the city's population, followed by Muslims with approx. 16% and Christians with approx. 2%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 72.81%.

The agriculture is the main occupation in the city and its hinterland. Uranium is mined in the vicinity of the city.

The city is the birthplace of the politician YS Rajasekhara Reddy , who was Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 2004 to 2009 . After his death, the district in which Pulivendula is located was renamed YSR after him. His son YS Jaganmohan Reddy is also a politician.
