The Pulu volcano ( Chinese 普鲁 火山 , Pinyin Pulu huoshan ) is an extinct volcano in the south of the western Kunlun Mountains in the area of Hotan ( Tianhe ) of the Uyghur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang in the northwest of the People's Republic of China , about 1,430,000 years ago .
