The Powder Tower is a tower of the listed city fortifications of Templin in Brandenburg .
It is located in the eastern part of the old town of Templin not far from the Prenzlauer Tor . The tower was built in the early 15th century from an older, semicircular Wiekhaus of the Templin city fortifications. It is built of brick and is covered by a solid cone helmet . The brick roof made it non-flammable and served as a powder tower to store gunpowder .
