The Pumphouse Lake ( English for pump house lake ) is the southernmost of the three lakes in the Three Lakes Valley of Signy Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands .
The British Antarctic Survey carried out surveys in 1973. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the lake in 1974 after a pump house for fresh water supply built by whalers on the east bank and now abandoned .
