Tübingen pumped storage plant
The Tübingen pumped storage power plant was a pumped storage power plant with an output of 400 k W on the Österberg in Tübingen .
history
The pumped storage plant was built in the interwar period from 1921 to 1923 and used a reservoir with a volume of 9,000 cubic meters on the Österberg as the upper basin . The height difference between the Neckar and the upper basin was about 125 meters. During the Second World War , the facilities were partially destroyed in a bombing raid in February 1945, after which the facilities were abandoned. In the 1960s, the storage basin was refilled, leveled, greened again and a playground was set up on the site .
