Pundalik Naik

Pundalik Narayan Naik (* 1952 in the Indian state of Goa ) is an Indian poet , short story writer , Roma writer, playwright and screenwriter from Goa. He wrote 40 books and two films.

Naik has been President of the state Goa Konkani Akademi since 2002 . His novel Acchev (The Upheaval, 1977) and the first Konkani novel have been translated into English.

He won the Sahitya Akademi Award in Konkani for his work, Chowrang , from 1984, awarded by the national Sahitya Akademi . In 2010 he won the Gomant Sharda Puraskar award for his life's work .
