Punta Diebel is a headland on the north coast of Laurie Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands . It lies on the banks of the Uruguay Cove .
Argentine scientists named it after the German Otto Diebel (1858-1905), who died there on September 25, 1905 as head of the Orcadas station .
