During a visit to Ms. Puppet Doctor Pill, there was a weekly children's evening program broadcast as part of the evening greeting in Our Sandman on GDR television. It was broadcast from 1959 to 1988.

She reported from a fictitious consultation hour, was the contact person and mediator between the world of dolls, children and adults. Ms. Puppet Doctor Pill gave the “doll mothers” and “doll dads” tips for good behavior, good upbringing, practical games inside and outside and above all for health. Proper nutrition, avoidance of colds, patience with illness, etc. played a central role.

Elaborately drawn picture books completed the program. The puppet doctor also adorned children's calendars and, together with other children's television characters, was earmarked for a series of stamps, which, however, was never realized.

"... if you have grief or worries, then write to Ms. Doll Doctor Pill with the big smart glasses first thing in the morning," she always said when she parted. The sentence became a popular phrase, but led to protests by parents. It was said that glasses couldn't be clever. So the GDR television later switched to "big round glasses".

Helga Labudda and Angela Brunner played the doll doctor woman until 1968. Then the young Berlin actress Urte Blankenstein successfully took over the role. More than 1000 evening greetings had been produced by 1988.

In 1988 GDR television ended the evening greeting series with the doll doctor woman. In contrast to the Sandmännchen and Pittiplatsch and Schnatterinchen , German broadcasters did not include the figure of the woman puppet doctor pill in children's programs after 1990.
