Bleisch puppet theater

The Bleisch Puppet Theater is a Swiss puppet theater based in Henggart ZH. It was founded in 1970 by Hanspeter Bleisch . In 1976 Ursula Bleisch-Imhof was added. Occasionally, members of professional and amateur groups participate.

The touring theater does not have its own venue; it occurs in German-speaking Switzerland and abroad. Pieces for adults, children and young people with stick figures , marionettes , articulated figures and quirks are performed . There are more than a hundred performances each season. One or two productions are made every year.

repertoire

The repertoire includes biblical pieces such as “The Prodigal Sons”, “Daniel” and “The Poor Man and the Rich Lazarus”, fairy tale and adventure material such as “The Wild Swans”, “Journey Around the World” and “Odysseus”. For children, among others, “David and Goliath” (1976), “De chlii Muck” (1979), “De Esel Bim” (1981), “Das Zauberschloss” (1984), “Jorinde and Joringel” (1988), “ The Henggarter Christmas Game ”(1989),“ Brumm, der kleine Bär ”(1990),“ Circus Peperoni ”(1994),“ Mirko, das Borstenkind ”(1997),“ Cello und Stups ”(1999) and“ Subu und die Mondblume »(2001) staged. "Bahnhof Requiem" (1977), Jura Soyfers "Astoria or How Much State Does Man Need" (1979), "Galgeneier" (1983), "Jedermann" (1986) and "La Belle et la Bête" are aimed at young people and adults. Theater group Bleisch & Co

With other participants, the puppet theater appears under the name “Theatergruppe Bleisch & Co”. "The Ninive Process", "The Pied Piper", "The Moon" (1984) and "Die Kluge" (1991) by Carl Orff and the Mozart opera "The Magic Flute" (1995) were staged for this. In 1996 it showed "Vom Fischer und syner Frau" in an industrial hall in Schaffhausen .

Further work

The puppet theater promotes the Swiss puppet theater scene through advanced training seminars for teachers, exhibitions and publications. It is a member of UNIMA Suisse, Association of Puppet and Puppet Theater.
