Purnamita Dasgupta

Purnamita Dasgupta is an Indian economist with a focus on environmental and natural resources .

Life

Dasgupta holds a bachelor's and master's degree in economics from the University of Calcutta and University of Delhi, respectively . She also earned a Master of Philosophy and PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University . She has held positions as professor at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom and Johns Hopkins University in the United States.

Act

Dasgupta deals u. a. with the greenhouse gas emissions of the Indian economy. She was involved in the Fifth Assessment Report of the IPCC (2014). She is one of the authors of the IPCC's special report on global warming of 1.5 degrees (2018).
