Pussos is a place and a former municipality in Portugal .
history
In 1514, King D. Manuel I gave the place city rights and made it the seat of a district as Vila Nova de Pussos.
In the course of the various administrative reforms after the Liberal Revolution in 1822 , the Pussos district was dissolved in the 1830s and Alvaiázere joined.
With the territorial reform in Portugal in 2013, the municipalities of Pussos and Rego da Murta were merged to form the new municipality of Pussos São Pedro .

Pussos was the seat of an independent community ( Freguesia ) in the district ( Concelho ) of Alvaiázere in the Leiria district . 1136 inhabitants live in the former municipality on an area of 24.99 km² (as of June 30, 2011).

As part of the administrative reorganization in Portugal on September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Pussos and Rego da Murta were merged to form the new municipality of Pussos São Pedro .
