Pyburg is a place in St. Pantaleon in the municipality of St. Pantaleon-Erla in the district of Amstetten in Lower Austria .

Northwest in St. Pantaleon and south of the Mauthausen Danube bridges .

history

The place was called Piburc in 899/902 . The place was economically and militarily important for crossing the Danube . There are remains of a former square fortification.
