St. Pantaleon is a village in the municipality of St. Pantaleon-Erla in the Amstetten district in Lower Austria .

location

The place St. Pantaleon is located in the Danube lowlands east of the city of Enns in Upper Austria .

history

A Roman settlement around the legionary camp excavated near Albing in the 1970s.

Zwieselkirchen was mentioned in a document in 1423 , probably dating back to the 12th century. A pilgrimage destination since 1660 and especially in the 18th century .

Until the regulation of the Danube from 1823 to 1835, the village was constantly threatened by flooding near the banks.

From 1848 independent municipality and with the Lower Austria. Municipal structure improvement 1971 Merger with Erla , the municipal office is in St. Pantaleon.

Building

The clustered village has a loose two-storey building with farmsteads of different structures as well as small houses and many renovations and new buildings from the 20th century.
