Pyramid Iceland is about two hectares large island on the southeast shore of Pyramid Lake , Nevada . It is located approximately 1.9 kilometers northeast of Anaho Island and approximately 9 kilometers from the parish of Sutcliffe . The white band that can be seen east of the island is made of calcium carbonate that was deposited there when the lake was at or near its point of overflow.
