Q-chord

The Q-Chord is an electronic musical instrument manufactured by Suzuki Musical Instruments since 2001 . It is the successor to the so-called omnichord .

It is operated by pressing buttons that specify the basic notes or chords and a touch-sensitive sensor ( strumplate ). This sensor enables both individual tones to be triggered and several tones to be played over them, similar to a zither or harp. The choice of chords results in a playing style comparable to the guitar. The strumplate covers four octaves. The instruments also offer a rhythmic accompaniment . With the Q-Chord, this has the typical sound of electronic sound generators from the eighties, as it was also found in the small keyboards from Casio .

connections

The Q-Chord has both MIDI -in- or via MIDI-out connectors. A corresponding MIDI-out interface can also be found on the Omnichord models OM200m and OM300.

distribution

In contrast to the Anglo-Saxon region, both Omnichord and Q-Chord are not very common in German-speaking countries.
