qBittorrent is a free file-sharing program written in C ++ for the BitTorrent protocol. It stands u. A. available for the operating systems Windows , Linux , Mac OS . The project was driven forward until 2013 by a computer science student (Christophe Dumez) from the Technical University of Belfort-Montbeliard in France, until he passed the maintainer position on to sledgehammer999 in 2013. The free libraries Libtorrent and Qt serve as the basis . qBittorrent was released in March 2006 and has been in active development ever since. Especially after µTorrent introduced advertising in 2012 and installed a Litecoin miner in 2015, qBittorrent became very popular.
