Qatar Financial Center (QFC) is an economic and financial center in Doha. It was established by the State of Qatar in March 2005 . QFC provides financial services to companies. The long-term goal is to promote the region's economic development.

QFC supports companies that want to expand from the Middle East or into the Middle East. The focus is on tax and legal issues. Firms joining the Qatar Financial Center should also benefit from a simple joining process and the link between local industries, particularly the oil and natural gas industries, and global finance.

QFC Authority

The Qatar Financial Center Authority is the commercial and strategic arm of the QFC. The QFC Authority contains an independent regulation of the participating companies, the QFC Regulatory Authority (QFCRA). This acts according to international standards and is responsible for the dissemination of transparency, efficiency and honesty in the companies of the QFC. The QFC Authority also has an independent judiciary that is responsible for assessing civil and commercial law.

QFC is 100% owned by the State of Qatar. Furthermore, QFC is managed by a seven- member board . Yousuf Mohamed Al-Jaida has been CEO since June 2015. The QFC Authority also has a board of five members.

Goal setting

QFC is part of Qatar's National Vision for 2030, an initiative to strengthen the economic area. The aim of QFC is to create a connection between the markets of the region and the international financial world. By supporting the Qatar economy, QFC should contribute to the development of the Qatar economic area in the long term.
