Dragoslav S. Mitrinović (born June 22, 1908 in Smederevo , † April 2, 1995 in Belgrade ) was a Serbian mathematician who dealt with analysis and especially inequalities .

Mitrinovic went to school in Pristina and Vranje and studied mathematics at the University of Belgrade with the degree in 1932. He received his doctorate in 1933 under Mihailo Petrović in Belgrade with a dissertation on differential equations ( studies on an important first-order differential equation (Serbian)). After that he was a math teacher in high schools. From 1946 he spent some time at the University of Paris. He published a number of papers mainly on differential equations and became a professor at the University of Skopje and a member of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences. From 1951 until his retirement in 1978 he was a professor at the University of Belgrade, initially in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and from 1953 as head of the mathematics department. From 1965 to 1975 he also headed the mathematics department at the University of Niš .

He dealt mainly with differential equations, functional equations, complex analysis, special functions and inequalities.

He founded the journal Publications of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Series: Mathematics and Physics and served on the editorial board of the book series Mathematics and its Applications at Kluwer.

He was considered very communicative and was the founder of the Serbian Scientific Society and President of the Society of Mathematicians and Physicists of Macedonia.
