Isoo Fukui

Isoo Fukui ( Japanese 福井 五十 雄 , Fukui Isoo ; born April 10, 1947 ) is a Japanese jazz musician ( double bass , cello ).

Isoo Fukui, who moved to Tokyo in 1968, became a member of pianist Masaru Imada's trio in 1972 ; with whom he accompanied Shigeko Toya ( Commin 'Out , Three Blind Mice ) that same year ; further recordings with Masaru Imada were made in 1973. In the following years he played in the Seiichi Nakamura Quintet, and he also worked with Tsuyoshi Yamamoto , Junichiro Oguchi and Hideo Ichikawa , Mitsuaki Kanno and Masanori Sasaji . In 1976 he presented the album Sunrise / Sunset (Three Blind Mice) recorded as a quartet , on which Shoji Yokouchi , Hideo Ichikawa, Kazuhiro Matsuishi and Tetsujiro Obara (drums) had participated. In 1977 a duo album followed (with Hideo Ichikawa and Masayuki Ise , guitar), in 1980 the album 'Round About Midnight (Denon, with Yasuaki Shimizu , Soichi Noriki , Hideo Yamaki ). In the 1980s he was a. a. involved in recordings of Bobby Enriquez , Sakurako Ogyu ; from the 1990s he still worked in the Tsuyoshi Yamamoto Trio (with Tetsujiro Obara) and in the Takeshi Kurita Trio ( Emotion ). In the field of jazz he was involved in 33 recording sessions between 1972 and 1992. a. also with the vocalists Minami Yasuda , Ayako Hosokawa , Eri Ohno , Mari Kanemoto , Keiko Saijo , Toshio Oida , Emi Oya and the duo of Nakaido Reichi / Yoshitaro Kanazaki .
