Kazuhiro Matsuishi

Kazuhiro Matsuishi ( Japanese 松石 和 宏 , Matsuishi Kazuhiro ; * around 1950) is a Japanese jazz musician (vibraphone).

Kazuhiro Matsuishi played in the Japanese jazz scene from the 1970s a. a. in the quintet of bassist Isoo Fukui , on whose album Sunrise / Sunset (1976, with Hideo Ichikawa , Shoji Yokouchi , Tetsujiro Obara ) he can be heard. With the Shohji Yokouchi Trio / Sextet he accompanied the singer Mari Nakamoto on her debut album Mari ( Three Blind Mice ) in 1977 ; in the same year he worked on Shoji Yokouchi's album Boiling Point (Toshiba). In March 1981, Matsuishi's only album under his own name, I Feel Pretty , was created for the Denon label , which he recorded with Hideo Ichikawa, Shigeru Matsumoto and Yasushi Ichihara . He then played (in addition to the title track from the West Side Story ) instrumental versions of well-known pop and jazz tracks such as " And I Love Her " by The Beatles , " If I Should Lose You " by Ralph Rainger / Leo Robin , the Broadway number " A Lot of Livin 'to Do ”,“ Gravy Waltz ”(by Ray Brown / Steve Allen ) and the Elvis Presley number“ Love Me Tender ”In the following years he was still a member of the fusion band Safari (self-titled album 1984) and worked around 1990 with the folk duo 古井 戸 by Nakaido Reichi and Yoshitaro Kanazaki (album 酔 醒, CBS / Sony).
