Three Blind Mice ( Japanese ス リ ー ・ ブ ラ イ ン ド ・ マ イ ス Surī Buraindo Maisu ) is an independent Japanese record label that specializes in jazz from Japan.
history
Takeshi Fujii founded the recording company in the summer of 1970 to document the growing importance of Japanese jazz musicians. The label became known worldwide due to the audiophile quality of its recordings, which were often the responsibility of the sound engineer Yoshihiko Kannari , and the artistic design of the sound carriers. 130 recordings were made by the turn of the millennium.
meaning
Stars like Isao Suzuki , Tsuyoshi Yamamoto , George Kawaguchi , Takao Uematsu and Mari Nakamoto were able to release their first albums on this label at a time when local jazz musicians only had limited access to the recording studio in Japan. The artists who the label looks after include Terumasa Hino , Shuko Mizuno , Kosuke Mine , Shigeko Toya , Toshiyuko Miyama , Kenji Mori , Hideo Ichikawa and Masaru Imada . But albums by Allan Praskin and Duke Jordan have also been released.
