Yasuaki Shimizu

Yasuaki Shimizu ( Japanese 清水 靖 晃 , Shimizu Yasuaki ; * around 1950) is a Japanese jazz musician (tenor and soprano saxophone, arrangement ).

Yasuaki Shimizu worked in the Japanese jazz scene from the 1970s and took a. a. with the Motohiko Hino Quartet ( Ryuhyo - Sailing Ice , 1976), Naoya Matsuoka , Izumi Kobayashi & Flying Mimi Band and Kazumi Watanabe . He also led the formation The Saxophonettes , which emerged from a solo project. He also worked as an arranger for the guitar duo Gontiti ( Gonzalez Mikami / Titi Matsumura ). In 2003 he released the album Kakashi (Pony Canyon). In the field of jazz, Tom Lord lists him in 43 recording sessions between 1976 and 1985.
