Qenos is an Australian chemical company. At its Altona (near Melbourne) and Botany Bay (Sydney) locations, it is the only Australian producer that primarily produces polyethylene , as well as specialty polymers and other things. It is mainly produced for the Australian market, where Qenos is the leader with a 70% share in PE. Another important sales market is New Zealand .

The company was founded in 1999 as a 50:50 joint venture between Orica and Kemcor Holdings; Kemcor, in turn, was a joint venture between Exxon Chemical Olefins Australia and Mobil Australia Finance Co. (their US parent companies Exxon and Mobil Oil merged to become ExxonMobil at the end of 1999 ). At the start, Qenos employed around 1,200 people.

In October 2005, the takeover of Qenos by the state-owned Chinese company ChemChina was agreed for a minimum price of 200 million Australian dollars. The transaction was completed in spring 2006.

Qenos pioneered the use of HDPE for pipes worldwide .
