Qimiq

QimiQ (portmanteau of English Quick Milk ) is one of the HAMA Foodservice patented GmbH dairy product from 99% lighter cream and 1% gelatin (beef), marketed by the same family company based in Hof bei Salzburg at Lake Fuschl .

history

The product was invented in 1995 by Hans Mandl and Rudolf Haindl and was developed to replace artificial emulsifiers and stabilizers by mixing them with liquids such as alcohol or vinegar.

properties

Gelatine is already included in QimiQ, so that gelatine does not have to be added. QimiQ cannot be turned over like regular whipped cream . It is stable when exposed to heat or mixed with acids or alcohol, so it can be used in foods where normal dairy products cannot be used.

Products

In addition to "QimiQ Classic", "QimiQ Classic Vanilla", "QimiQ Sauce Base" and "QimiQ Whip", the company also includes the products "Qiminaise", a mayonnaise with only 20% fat and without eggs, the hollandaise sauce and the "QimiQ marinade" “Base for pickling fish, meat, poultry and seafood.

Awards

The product received the 2003 Mercury Award from the International Travel Catering Association . It also received the ICD Award in 2004 and was awarded the AMA seal of approval .
