Qin Yi
Qin Yi ( Chinese 秦 怡 ; born February 4, 1922 in Shanghai ) is a Chinese film and theater actress . In the 1940s and 50s she was one of the most famous actresses in her country. She has appeared in 35 feature films, 30 plays and eight television series.
Life
Qin Yi left her hometown in 1938 after it was occupied by Japanese troops and went to Chongqing . There she met directors Shi Dongshan and Ying Yunwei at a theater performance and began her acting career under their direction. Qin Yi was involved in founding the Chinese Dramatic Society ( Zhonghua Yuyi she ) in 1941 . In 1945 she returned to Shanghai.
Her typical role model includes women and their love that failed in the war. Her best-known films are Yaoyuan de ai (1948) by Chen Liting , The Heart Plays with ( Nülan Wuhao , 1957) by Xie Jin and Baiguo Jiangnan (1963) by Shen Fu .
For her role in the television series Shanghai wuyan xia (1982) she was awarded the Golden Falcon for best television actress . Her last film appearance was in 1993 in Meng fei meng by Zhen Fan . Today she is in charge of the Shanghai Film & Television Company .
