Quantum dot solar cell

A quantum dot solar cell is a solar cell that uses quantum dots . During production, the particles can be applied to surfaces in a similar way to a dye. As of 2014, prototypes in the form of a double-layer solar cell made of light-absorbing nanoparticles are being developed at the University of Toronto as well as at the Berkeley Lab and the University of California, Berkeley . An efficiency achieved under laboratory conditions in July 2016 was 10.6%.
