Quantensprung is a band that was founded in early 2002 in Nuremberg by Erdal Cec, Ralf Gebhardt, Ceylan Aytugan and Volker Otto.
history
After a year in the practice room, she created her first live repertoire and the musical basis for her first album Bakshish feat. Doner kebab that they released in March 2004. The "kebab song" on it brought the band into conversation beyond their region. The cultural fusion within the band unmistakably and uniquely shapes their music, " Orient Occident Crossover ".
In the first few years the band played over 100 live concerts (including at the Carnival of Cultures in Berlin, Tollwood Summer Festival in Munich, Bardentreffen in Nuremberg) in front of more than 75,000 people. In 2005, Quantensprung was the opening act for Grand Prix winner Sertab Erener from Turkey in the Meistersingerhalle Nuremberg. The band's live repertoire of up to four hours of playing time includes English blues, rock and soul songs, oriental rock from Turkey as well as their own pieces in German.
At the end of 2006, Quantensprung was selected by the preliminary jury of the world music competition "Creole - Prize for World Music from Bavaria 2007" among the best 16 bands from Bavaria.
In 2004, Quantensprung was awarded the “Intercultural Prize of the City of Nuremberg's Advisory Council for Foreigners ” for her musical work and the associated contribution to the dialogue between cultures .
