Quartaro

The Quartaro was an Italian measure of volume. The difference in the size of the measure made the goods for the measurement and on the other hand the region.

  • 2 quartaro = 1 mina
  • 4 quartaro = 1 star
  • 12 quartaro = 1 brenta

Sicily

In Sicily , 8 quartari were required for a salma for a wine measure and 96 quartari were required for one tonna.

  • Messina and Palermo 1 quartaro = 1.5 quartucci = 552 Parisian cubic inches = 10.9 liters
  • Syracuse 1 quartaro = 490 ⅝ Parisian cubic inches = 9.7 liters
