The district park Randowstraße , also called Randowpark , is a park that was laid out between 2005 and 2007 in the Berlin district of Hohenschönhausen in the Lichtenberg district in Randowstraße in Welsekiez. The area of the park is 14,430 m².
history
In 2005 two school buildings were demolished and the associated schoolyards dismantled. This is how an open space was created on Randowstrasse. After consultation with the residents and the district administration, a district park should be created for their use, for which the Senate of Berlin provided around 700,000 euros from the urban redevelopment east funding program . The district won the Berlin planning community Kohlbrenner eG to develop a basic concept that was discussed several times with the citizens and largely adapted to their wishes. The main theme of the new green area was a wood . In the fitting out of the areas crossed the Foundation SPI also unemployed used.
The first construction phase was a children's playground, completed at the end of 2005. Tree sponsors were found for the young trees , who received their sponsorship certificates in May 2006. With your donation you contribute to the care of the shade donors.
The Lichtenberg District Councilor for Urban Development (Wilfried Nünthel; CDU) officially opened the public green area on April 24, 2007.
description
The entire area has been re-greened, and the public children's playground is located in the northeastern part of the park . This is shielded from a residential street and adjacent residential buildings by a grove. In addition, the park was given a play area on the theme of the forest with climbing and balancing opportunities. Furthermore, there is a swing, a double bar and a climbing tower on a sandy surface, some parts are connected by hammocks.
A retirement home and a sports hall are on the edge of the district park. A theme park of the united generations joins here. The park is barrier-free , and a staircase over an embankment has been created on Welsestrasse.
