history
Qudian was founded in March 2014 as Beijing Happy Time by Min Luo. Back then, the business model was based on providing goods and cash loans to students across China .
In November 2015, the company shifted its focus to a broader target group of young consumers.
On November 16, 2016, Qudian Inc. was founded. Since then, Qudian has been offering credit products digitally.
In 2017, Qudian also entered the auto finance industry under the Dabai Auto brand .
In the second quarter of 2019, Qudian then began to run down auto finance products and focus on the consumer finance space.
