Quebrada de la vaca (official name, after the dry valley, where the plant is located) colloquially Puerto Inca , is an archaeological find place near the town of Chala in the Arequipa region in Peru . The facility can be reached via an unpaved road from the Panamericana via the Puerto Inka hotel complex .

In the times of the Inca culture , fish, seafood and algae were dried, stored and transported to the capital Cuzco and other places via the well-developed Inca route system in the extensive complex .

In addition to the outer walls of a production building, numerous stone-lined storage pits ( colca ) have been preserved on the partly terraced hillside . In addition, the outer walls of warehouses or houses and the foundation walls of other unexcavated structures can be seen.

Settlement remains from at least three periods have been detected, the oldest of which are around 4000 years old and thus dated to the pre-ceramic era well before the Inca culture.
