Ricochet

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A ricochet is a projectile / long projectile that overturns due to a lack of stabilization or ricochets off the target or an obstacle in front of it and then flies more or less laterally or staggering with reduced penetration and usually in a different direction. The impact of a ricochet is more like an ellipse than a circle; Impacts with the entire broadside are also possible.

The ricochet must not be confused with the desired ricochet or a ricochet shot . The latter usually flies further as a ricochet because the spin stabilization is disturbed by the impact.
