Quincey Daniels

Quincey Daniels (born August 4, 1941 in San Diego ) is a retired American boxer .

Daniels was the American lightweight champion in 1959 (-60 kg). The following year he took part in the light welterweight division (-63.5 kg) at the Olympic Games in Rome , and after victories over Alexander Mitsev, Bulgaria (5: 0), Bobby Kelsey, United Kingdom (4: 1), and Sayed El-Nahas, Egypt (5-0), the semi-finals. In this he faced the later Olympic champion Bohumil Němeček , Czechoslovakia , to whom he was defeated with 5-0 judges' votes. After two military world titles in 1961 and 1963 and a bronze medal at the Pan American Games in 1963 , Daniels ended his career for the time being. 1970 Daniels returned to the ring and was again American light welterweight champion. His subsequent professional career was not crowned with success.
