Quintus Peltrasius Maximus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quintus Peltrasius Maximus was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 3rd or 4th century AD .

A dedicatory inscription on an altar, which was found at Fanum Cocidi fort and which is dated to 201/330, proves that Maximus was a tribune . According to John Spaul , he was the tribune of the Cohors I Augusta Nerviana Germanorum , who at the time was stationed in the province of Britannia . The inscription also shows that he was previously a Cornicularius who was promoted to prefect ( ex corniculario praefectorum praetorio ).

Maximus dedicated the altar to the deity Cocidius .
