Quintus Sosius Senecio

Quintus Sosius Senecio († around 110) was a politician and general during the Roman Empire .

Senecio was a friend of the future emperor Hadrian , the younger Pliny and Plutarch , whom he had met as proconsul of Achaia and who dedicated his parallel lives to him. He was married to Iulia Frontina - a daughter of the writer and senator Frontinus - and served as commander under Emperor Trajan . In 99 he held the ordinary consulate with Aulus Cornelius Palma Frontonianus , in 105/106 he fought in Trajan's second Dacian war and received the ornamenta triumphalia . In 107 he was consul for the second time together with Lucius Licinius Sura , a close friend of the emperor. His daughter Sosia Polla married the influential officer and politician Quintus Pompeius Falco .
