Quintus Tineius Sacerdos (Consul 219)

Quintus Tineius Sacerdos was a Roman politician and senator .

Sacerdos came from a noble family, probably from Volaterrae , a town in Etruria . He was a son of Quintus Tineius Sacerdos , consul in 158 and the Volussia Ladice. His brothers were Quintus Tineius Rufus and Quintus Tineius Clemens , consuls 182 and 195 respectively.

Sacerdos was a suffect consul in 193 . In the year of office 198/199 he became governor ( proconsul ) of the province of Bithynia et Pontus , later, still under Septimius Severus , proconsul of the province of Asia (209/210 or 210/211). Finally, in 219, Sacerdos became consul for the second time with Emperor Elagabal . In 170 Saceros belonged to the priestly college of the Salii Palatini .
