The Quiport Corporation SA is an Ecuadorian companies and airport operators , the main business aviation in Quito operates. The name is composed of the name of the Ecuadorian capital and the English term for airport: Qui to - Air port .

The company was founded in July 2002 and is based in Quito.

Services and share structure

The company operated the Aeropuerto Internacional Mariscal Sucre , which closed due to its dangerous location in the city center of Quito and because the latter has reached its capacity limit. As a replacement, Quiport is currently building a new airport 25 kilometers east of Quito , which is due to open in 2010 and will take over the air traffic. The project manager is the Canadian Nick Smortchevsky. The project costs over $ 600 million, according to Quiport.

The airport company is each owned 45.5 percent by the Canadian Aecon Group Inc. and the Brazilian joint venture partner Andrade Gutierrez Constructores .
