Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA) is the public broadcaster of Angola. Organizationally, the society consists of a general directorate, seven directorates, four sub-directorates and several provincial directorates. The broadcaster is managed by the coordinator Filipe Diatezwa .

The RNA is distributed to 62 centers across the country. This includes six local radio stations, 18 provincial stations, seven regional stations, 30 broadcasting centers and one training center. Apart from the Portuguese language, 24-hour radio programs are broadcast from the capital Luanda in 12 other national languages. The international program is distributed in Portuguese, English, French and Lingála . Reception is guaranteed by a nationwide network of transmitters using VHF , medium wave and short wave .

In the capital Luanda, RNA has a total of five channels:

  • Channel A - with a 24-hour program of information, entertainment, culture and sport. Channel A is the flagship of the RNA group
  • Rádio N'gola Yetu - broadcasts nationwide in 12 (Angolan) languages, from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Rádio Luanda - Uninterrupted program 24 hours in Luanda
  • Rádio Cinco - national sports channel from 6 a.m. to midnight
  • Rádio FM Estéreo - Pure music channel in stereo

The media in Angola are subject to significant legal restrictions. Angola received the worst rating in the media barometer for Southern Africa. The 2007 report states: "Relative media diversity exists only in the capital Luanda . In rural areas, on the other hand, there are hardly any newspapers and the vast majority of the population depends on state shortwave broadcasters for information. Although a media law allows private radio broadcasters, it ignores them Government so far the corresponding applications: for seven years not a single notice has been given. "
