Romans 2-4-6

Römer 2-4-6 is the name of a Gothic half-timbered house , the oldest built-in parts of which date from 1289. This makes Römer 2-4-6 one of the oldest, free-standing half-timbered houses in Germany and a national monument. It is in the historic old town of Limburg an der Lahn . The name is derived from the street name and house numbers. In addition, Römer 2-4-6 is the oldest half-timbered house in Limburg.

During the course of renovation work , attention was drawn to the building. It was restored between 1986 and 1989 by the Limburg architect Walter Neuhäusser . In the run-up to the restoration work, dendrochronological investigations were carried out on the annual rings of the rafters, which were installed in the completely preserved roof structure. This allowed the named year of construction to be dated.

A mikveh , a Jewish cult bath , was found in the garden of the complex .
