Roman poets in new metric translations

Roman poets in new metrical translations is the title of a series of translations that were edited by Gottlieb Lukas Friedrich Tafel (1787–1860), Christian Nathanael Osiander (1781–1855) and Gustav Schwab (1792–1850) from 1830 to 1867 in the Metzler- Verlag in Stuttgart appeared. The series with German translations of classics of Latin literature comprises a total of 77 volumes.

Tafel, Osiander and Schwab also edited: Greek prose writers in new translations (1–355), Greek poets in new metrical translations (1–75) and Roman prose writers in new translations (1–242).
