Roman villa in Botzdorf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Roman Villa in Botzdorf is a villa rustica from the first century AD in the Botzdorf district of the city of Bornheim in the Rhein-Sieg district . It is also called Villa Fortuna , after a statue of Fortuna discovered during the excavations .

The remains of the villa were discovered in 2002 in a new building area and exposed by the Rhenish Office for the Preservation of Land Monuments. Part of the facility has been open to the public since spring 2014. A covered fence protects the well-preserved Roman bath from the weather and vandalism.
