Rötger from Schade

Rötger von Schade (also Rotger ; † March 19, 1469 ) was abbot of the Grafschaft monastery .

Rötger came from the noble family von Schade . At first he was probably abbot in Flechtdorf . According to some sources, he was abbot of the Grafschaft monastery since 1404; In a document he was not mentioned in this position until 1434. During his tenure he was able to largely preserve the monastery’s assets, but in 1434 he had to confirm an earlier allocation of property. Rötger acquired goods from the property of the noble lords of Grafschaft . During his time the first register of the monastery was created.
