Guidelines for the construction of roads - junctions
The guidelines for the construction of roads - Part: Junctions ( RAS-K for short ) are a technical set of rules that was previously valid in Germany for the design and construction of plan-identical and plan-free junctions. They were published by the Research Association for Roads and Transport (FGSV) and deal with the dimensioning and design of junctions . Today the corresponding road construction regulations are contained in the “Guidelines for the construction of rural roads” (RAL) and the guidelines for the construction of motorways (RAA).
content
It is divided into the two sections, plan -level and plan-free junctions. Plane junctions are junctions that handle traffic on one level, whereas plan-free junctions are, for example, motorway junctions or triangles in which traffic is distributed over several levels.

The RAS-K-1 ("Guidelines for the construction of roads - Part: Junctions, Section 1: Plane junctions") applied to streets of category A – C. The technical regulations for access roads ( EAE ) or other technical regulations applied to roads in category groups D and E and category AV or for agricultural and forestry roads . The RAS-K-1 replaced the RAL-K-1 in 1986 ("Guidelines for the construction of rural roads - Part: Junctions, Section 1: Plane junctions"). With the 2001 edition a "corrected reprint" was published.

title | Guidelines for the construction of rural roads - Part: Junctions, Section 2: Unplanned junctions |
abbreviation | RAL-K-2 |

Previous edition | 1976 |
A RAS-K-2 was not introduced. Instead, the old guideline RAL-K-2 ("Guidelines for the construction of country roads - Part: Junctions, Section 2: Non-plan junctions") from 1976 (corrected reprint from 1991) continued to apply, in conjunction with the additions AH-RAL-K -2 (“Current information on the design of unplaned intersections outside built-up areas”) from 1993 and RAS-K-2-B (“Design information for unplaned intersections on streets in category group B”) from 1995. The RAL-K-2 with the additions Applied to the new construction, expansion and renovation of junctions on motorways or other non-cultivation lanes .
replacement
The RAS-K-1 and RAL-K-2 have been replaced by the "Guidelines for the construction of motorways (2008)" and the "Guidelines for the construction of country roads (2012)".
