The RCA Dome was a completely covered stadium in Indianapolis , which offered space for 57,980 spectators. It was the home ground of the Indianapolis Colts .
For the 2008/09 football season, the stadium was replaced by the Lucas Oil Stadium , a new building also in the center of Indianapolis. The new stadium can hold up to 70,000 spectators, making it a worthy home base for the 2007 Super Bowl winners. Sponsor Lucas Oil , a local motor oil manufacturer, paid $ 120 million for a twenty-year naming contract.
After the completion of the Lucas Oil Stadium, the RCA Dome was demolished on December 20th, 2008.
