List of radio stations

RTL Radio 93.3 and 97.0 was a radio station that broadcast a regional program for the entire Saar-Lor-Lux region via VHF. Although the sister program RTL Radio has the same name, two different programs were broadcast. The program was aimed at the target group of 14 to 49 year olds. Since 2014, the Germany-wide RTL radio program has been running on the frequencies again - as it was until 2008.

history

Since RTL Radio, which is broadcast via VHF, broadcasts a program geared towards Germany and did not offer a regional program for Luxembourg, the RTL Radio 93.3 and 97.0 programs started on December 1, 2008 at 12 noon. The music mix was changed on RTL Radio 93.3 and 97.0 and instead of Major-AC included a Hot-AC format.

In December 2012 the slogan of the station was renewed and read The best hits in the best mix .

On December 23, 2013, for strategic reasons, the nationwide and Europe-wide program "RTL RADIO - The Best Hits of All Time" (since July 1, 2015 RTL - Germany's hit radio ) was broadcast on the regional FM frequencies 93.3 and 97 , 0 MHz.

As before, RTL offers regional weather and traffic service for the region from Luxembourg on 93.3 and 97.0 MHz.

Program and genre

A regional program was broadcast for Luxembourg, Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, East Belgium and Lorraine. Every half hour there was a short form of regional news broadcast in the morning, at noon and in the evening, a regional weather report and traffic reports for the regions to be supplied, while detailed hourly news from all over the world and also from the region was broadcast. The music mix was characterized by oldies, evergreens and current hits since the 80s. Event tips and special programs were also broadcast, as well as "TBB Trier aktuell" with TBB hall spokesman Chris Schmitt, on Thursdays between 4 and 5 pm, or the "RTL RADIO Cinemaxx film tip" with the current film charts, on Wednesdays between 6 and 7 pm. The morning show was called Jans Morgen , from January 7, 2013 it was renamed Jan and Julia am Morgen . It was broadcast on working days between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. and moderated by Jan Seifert (Julia Siegel since 2013). RTL Radio wanted to strengthen and expand its focus on its target group. The discontinuation of the broadcast, as well as the entire program, led to major protests and incomprehension, especially on the broadcaster's Facebook page, to which the broadcaster did not respond.

reception

RTL RADIO 93.3 and 97.0 were broadcast terrestrially via the VHF transmitters in Dudelange (93.3 MHz) and Hosingen (97.0 MHz), which are still in operation . There was also a live stream on the homepage of the transmitter and an iOS - and Android - App available. The regional version of RTL Radio is still available as a separate program from TuneIn, for example.
