RTP Internacional (also RTPi ) is an antenna-based television channel for Portuguese- language programs broadcast worldwide, owned by the Portuguese telecommunications company RTP ( Rádio e Televisão de Portugal ). The program comes from public and private television channels in Portugal .
In addition to news, RTPi also broadcasts telenovelas , films, series, documentaries and entertainment shows, and broadcasts football matches from the Portuguese Football League and the Portuguese National Football Team .
It went on the air on Portugal Day (June 10) in 1992 and was intended to provide a source of news and a connection line to Portugal, in particular for the 4.5 million Portuguese expatriates around the world.
