career
Basurto was under contract between 1972 and 1975 at the capital club Cruz Azul , with whom he won the Mexican championship title in the 1972/73 and 1973/74 seasons .
In 1975 he moved to the Tecos de la UAG , for which he made 257 appearances in the Mexican Primera División over the next nine years and scored a total of 24 goals.
