Raad-1 ( Persian رعد, in German: "Donner") is a self-propelled gun made by Iran .

In 1996, Iran announced that it had successfully tested the first self-propelled gun from its own production - the Raad-1. It is based on the Iranian-made armored personnel carrier Boragh , which in turn is based on the Soviet BMP-1 and the Chinese "Type 86". Like the Boragh, the Raad-1 self-propelled gun is buoyant; In the water, the drive takes place by means of caterpillars. The Raad-1 tank is similar to the Soviet 2S1 self-propelled gun from the 1960s, which is also equipped with a 122 mm cannon. The maximum fire range is given as 15,200 meters and the maximum speed on paved roads is said to be 65 kilometers per hour.

All Russian 122 mm standard projectiles can be fired, such as cluster ammunition , HE-FRAG, HEAT , fog and tracer ammunition .
