Rab Nachman bar Isaac

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rab Nachman bar Isaak († 356) was a 4th generation Amora in Babylonia .

Together with Raba he was a student of Abaje and a student of Nachman bar Jakob . After Raba's death he was head of the school in Pumbedita .

Since Rab Nachman bar Isaac, just like Nachman bar Jacob, is called Rab Nachman for short, it is difficult to always distinguish him from his teacher Nachman bar Jacob.
